Google suspends Huawei Android support for the reason best-known to them. However, you will find out the reason behind this action in this article. Just make sure you read very well and digest it. Huawei was already facing serious problems following the Trump administration’s de facto ban, but this could worsen considerably. Reuters sources say Google has suspended transactions with Huawei that require the transfer of proprietary hardware and software, hampering most of its smartphone-related business outside of China.

According to the insider, it “loses” immediate access to future operating system updates beyond the Open Source Android project, and future phones are expected to be free of official apps such as Google Play Store and Gmail. The company is still discussing “in-house” services that will disappear, said the source. Google, however, cut any technical support and collaboration for Android and services.

We asked Google to comment. If it is accurate, the suspension would be a blow to Huawei’s mobile efforts. Although this should not be too much trouble for Chinese companies (the company cannot use Google apps in the country), it depends on access to these apps to stay competitive with devices like the P30 Pro. As long as the US blacklist persists, Huawei may be forced to rely on third-party applications and services simply to provide fully functional handsets – and there is no guarantee that customers will be responsive to change.

We understand that the report is accurate, although there is a slight reprieve. Updates for game services and apps will still be running because they do not require Google to interact with Huawei. However, the operating system and security updates are strictly prohibited. Despite the fact that Google suspends Huawei Android support, they assured that some services like Google Play and Security from the Google Play Protect will be available if they could comply with all the requirements tender to them.

Huawei provided his first response to Google’s action:

“Huawei has made substantial contributions to the development and growth of Android around the world. As one of Android’s key global partners, we have worked closely with their open-source platform to develop an ecosystem that has benefitted both users and the industry. Huawei will continue to provide security updates and after-sales services to all existing Huawei and Honor smartphone and tablet products, covering those that have been sold and that are still in stock globally. We will continue to build a safe and sustainable software ecosystem, in order to provide the best experience for all users globally”.
